Search Analysis of Facebook and Twitter

Facebook’s communication model differs from Twitter´s,  as twitter data has a greater volume of public updates,  subsequently their “Trending topics” feature within its search results benefits its popularity.

-Facebook Search Icon-In comparison, Facebook’s privacy transition tool has improved functionality on the volume of public content published through the Facebook stream.

Many twitter users communicate by commenting on the latest trending topics, as many users don’t have many followers and aren’t following many others.  On the other hand, Facebook users communicate among their pre-approved friends.

This fundamental difference could be one of the reasons that Twitter still tends to show more results on a web search query.  However, Facebook functionality has recently improved and is now more effective at presenting search results.

Despite real-time search potential powerful functionality neither Facebook, Twitter, Google, or Microsoft have yet produced reliable technology to present real-time search results. Furthermore, some experts are dubious on the value of  real-time search engines.  It follows that most search providers accept that there is yet some technical difficulties in order to present the world of real-time search in a relevant and appropriate manner.
